Christmas Morning in Bellevue

“Good morning,” Came a female voice.  A voice which always brought me comfort.  My baby sister was gently shaking me awake.  “It’s Christmas morning!  Wake up!”

I then realized I was being kissed on both cheeks, which of course really woke me up.  Both of my sisters were at my side, and both were gently kissing me.  “Good morning, sleepyhead,” Jessica said.  She looked me in the eye and asked, “Will you help your big sister get a shower?  Are you ready to help me, like you used to?”

“We want to get you back into your old swing. It’s why Kristin was in her birthday suit for you yesterday,” Rachel said.

“Remember how you used to get me ready for school in the morning,” Jessica asked. I smiled as the memories of taking on the big responsibility of washing my older sister every morning and getting her dressed for the school day came back to me. “You remember, don’t you,” Jessica said.

“I do,” I said, very weakly, as I realized Jessica was dancing around an extremely sensitive subject that was still bitterly raw.

“Come on with us,” Rachel said as Jessica transferred to her wheelchair.  “It will be just like Jessica’s apartment in Federal Way.  We want to help get you over that mountain.”  It appeared that my little sister knew exactly what was bothering me after all.

“Let’s do this,” I whispered.

“Stop me at any time,” Rachel replied as she began pulling her night shirt off, attempting to give me a chance to back out. She stood there for a moment with her breasts exposed as she repeated, “Stop me at any time.” I decided that I was going to do this, to help Jessica.

Rachel finished undressing herself and said, “Let’s do this.” I finished undressing myself as well and Rachel said, “You remember how we did this back in Federal Way.”

The platform lift arrived to bring Jessica downstairs, and Rachel and I followed behind her. “What is it,” I asked, as my little sister smirked when she put her arm around me. She giggled, as if hiding a secret, while we walked slowly down behind the lift.

Once downstairs, Jessica and Rachel both cried, “Merry Christmas!” I just could not believe my eyes when I saw the tree. My brain just went into overload, and Rachel helped me to the sofa.

“MERRY CHRISTMAS,” Came a chorus of people from the living room.

“Jessica told us the story of how you were left for dead, and we all pitched in to make sure your Christmas was not going to be rotten,” One of the people said.

“We at WorldSoft thought she was treating you like dirt,” Another said as he handed me a big box, “Merry Christmas!”

“Go on,” Jessica said, trying to stifle a giggle.

I tore through the wrapping, and it was the Game Box, WorldSoft’s console gaming system.  “Would you like us to hook it up,” One of the workers asked.

“To what,” Rachel asked, in a voice that sounded very scripted.

“To this,” Another worker said, as he handed another box to her, again in a voice that sounded too scripted to be spontaneous.

“A TV!!”  Rachel was excited, but again it was scripted.

“What’s going on,” I asked.

Rachel pulled me into a hug and said, “OK.  We’re guilty!”

Jessica continued, “We made arrangements.”

Rachel added, “We wanted to cheer up our brother.  We hated Delores.”

Jessica took over, “I made myself a promise.  When I saw you being dragged away from WorldSoft, I knew you were being led to your doom, and I promised myself that you would spend Christmas where you belonged: with your two sisters.”

Jessica saw it in a flash as her tone suddenly changed, “Rachel!  He’s going into overload.  You know what to do!”

My little sister caught me, and latched on, knowing how I got when my brain was overloaded with too much information at once.  “He needs space,” Rachel said, gripping me tightly, and allowing me to lie on her breast.  “What are you hungry for,” Rachel asked me quietly, “They are leaving, so it’s just the three of us now.”  I started crying a little, and my sister curled her arms around me and whispered, “Just lie on your pillow. Jessica will make something.”
